excellent shooting location and has appeared
in several feature films and promotional and
product shoots. It is only minutes from the
film-famous Devils Punchbowl and Landmark
Mormon Rocks which make for beautiful filming.
An easy 90-minute drive from Los Angeles and only
2 hours from San Diego, The Ranch is convenient
to all of Southern California. Yet being on the property
you feel a million miles away, and in many places it is untouched by civilization.
Located in a protected ecological liminal zone that rises from the floor of the Mojave Desert, through a forest of Yucca, Manzanita and Sage, to just below the pine forest of the Angeles National Forest, the landscape is rugged and beautiful. Featuring knife-edge slopes that rise dramatically from the gently sloping desert floor, and carved with natural arroyos, rocky bluffs and ancient animal trails. From points high within the canyon and the narrow, ascending ridge tops, the distant desert floor offers an arresting if not breathtaking view.
The diverse terrain creates dramatic lighting changes through the day and innumerable and unexpected vantage points ideal for photography and filming. The altitude helps to create dramatic seasonal changes throughout the year, from snow cover in winter to white yucca blossoms and wildflowers in spring.
